I took over the accounts for my Dad’s business and needed more professional knowledge of accounts and working with Sage. My course helped me to enhance my understanding of bookkeeping processes and to spot errors in my previous work. The tutors were very patient with me and helped me to understand the course material thoroughly.” Sharon Joynes, ICB Level 2 Associate

From today, anyone wishing to work with children can gain the new ‘gold standard’ child care certification with Home Learning College. The Early Learning & Childcare distance learning course leads to the NCFE Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People’s Workforce. This qualification meets requirements set by the Children’s Workforce Development Council (CWDC) and provides a licence to practice within a wide variety of roles. The NCFE Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People’s Workforce reflects the objectives of the 2020 Children and Young People's Workforce Strategy – a Government scheme to ensure that everyone who works with children and young people has the appropriate knowledge and skills. As part of this initiative, from 2015 all early learning and childcare workers must have a Level 3 Diploma or comparable level 3 qualification. Students who successfully complete Home Learning College’s Early Learning & Childcare course will gain a targeted, fully accredited Level 3 diploma from one of the UK’s most respected awarding bodies. The course itself covers a range of topics including:

Students wishing to enrol on the Early Learning & Childcare course do not require any prior experience. However, a good standard of written English and basic computer skills are necessary to underpin the creation a portfolio of evidence. Students will also need to complete a work placement to gain their final qualification*. Home Learning College’s Academic Director, Dave Snow, comments on the launch of this new course: “Child care is an excellent example of a sector where it’s vital that all workers are fully equipped to do the best job possible. We welcome the new regulations which require every child care professional to gain a recognised level 3 qualification and we’re committed to continuing to provide the highest level of training to help people achieve this accreditation. “The benefit of studying with Home Learning College lies in being able to undertake the course by distance learning. This means that students can study from home at their own pace, while fulfilling their existing personal and professional commitments.” For further information visit Home Learning College’s Early Learning & Childcare course page. *students are responsible for finding their own work placement
