Over the past 12 months, Home Learning College has helped thousands of students to gain recognised professional qualifications via distance learning. The college has a track record of achieving higher than average pass rates across a diverse range of subjects including accounting and bookkeeping, IT and computing, business and marketing, web design, child care, social care and more.

Home Learning College is one of the biggest providers of Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) distance learning courses in the UK, with over 7,000 active students in this faculty. Results from the latest Level 2 Unit 31 exams in September show a 92% pass rate. The amalgamated rate across Units 5, 6 and 30 – taken in June – was 78%, which compares favourably to the AAT UK average of 76%.

Excellent results were also achieved by those studying for an Institute of Certified Bookkeepers (ICB) qualification. The pass rate on all five courses was above the ICB average, with 100% of Home Learning College students passing their Level 3 Manual Bookkeeping exams. The ICB national average for this exam is 84%.

Home Learning College’s IT faculty also performed well throughout the year. Students on the CIW Web Foundations and Design course achieved an 84% pass rate, while 79% on the Adobe Dreamweaver and Flash web design course gained their final qualification.

“These pass rates demonstrate that distance learning is a highly effective way to gain career-enhancing, professionally accredited qualifications,” says Dave Snow, Academic Director at Home Learning College. “Home study is the perfect solution for anyone who wants to fit study around their existing professional and personal commitments.

“Our tutors are all trained to offer structured advice and guidance without the need for face to face interaction. This support can be delivered via our vibrant online Virtual Learning Community, by email or over the phone. Time and again our students tell us that their tutor has played an integral role in helping them get the most from their course and successfully pass their exams. We look forward to helping many more people to achieve study success over the coming year.”
