Home Learning College - an ODLQC accredited provider of education
Home Learning College is an accredited ODLQC provider. The ODLQC is an independent body that aims to enhance the quality of training and teaching, to ensure home learners are provided with high standards of education.
The was set up at the request of the Government in 1969 as the Council for the Accreditation of Correspondence Colleges. It became the Open and Distance Learning Quality Council in 1995 and is now an independent body and a registered charity.
The aim of ODLQC is to identify and enhance quality in education and training and to protect the interests of learners, focusing on open and distance learning.
ODLQC undertakes a rigorous assessment of a course provider's administrative and tutorial methods, educational materials and publicity. This ensures that all standards are met.
Once providers are ODLQC accredited, they are monitored to ensure that students continue to receive good service. They are then re-assessed at least once every three years.
ODLQC Quality Mark
The Quality Mark sets ODLQC Accredited Providers apart as an educational elite. As a learner you can look for it as a sign of good quality provision.
Providers can use the ODLQC mark to signal their achievement of, and commitment to, quality. Non-accredited providers cannot. They may try to reassure learners by indicating links with other organisations. But such links only demonstrate excellence if they are underpinned with rigorous scrutiny by the ODLQC - a reputable, national body.
