Common Concerns
After an extended period off work, for whatever reason, it's not unusual to feel worried and apprehensive about returning.
Remember, a trouble shared is a trouble halved, so do talk to friends, family, or former colleagues. They'll be able to offer support and help you realise that it's easier than you might think to get back into work.
Here are some common concerns and our tips to help you overcome them.
I don't know whether I can keep up with the pace of a full-time job
Consider easing yourself in gently. Take temporary or part time positions initially, just to get back into the swing of things.
I don't know how I will juggle a demanding family and a job
Today there are numerous child care options, ranging from breakfast clubs run by schools, to private nurseries and childminders. There is no right or wrong solution - you need to think about what best suits your lifestyle and your children. Invest time in exploring all the options. If you are comfortable and happy with your child care arrangements, you will feel much happier and more positive about returning to work.
Also think about finding help with day-to-day household chores like cleaning and ironing. What are the domestic tasks that sap most of your time and energy? Can you share the load? A little help goes a long way in making your return to work less stressful.
I just don't know where to start

It may seem like a long list a first, but you will soon start ticking items off your list. And as the list goes down, your spirits will go up!
