What Kind Of Work
If you're unsure what sort of job you want to do, are still thinking about a new career, or want to ease your way back into work, we've outlined some useful options. Take a look and decide what would suit you best.
Temp work
If you're not sure if a new career is right for you, a great way to find out is to start by temping. This will give you the flexibility to trial a job in a new field, or a new company, while also earning money again.
Remember also that temporary roles can often lead to permanent positions. Plus you get to meet new people - and build your network of contacts.
Permanent work
If your career break was short, or if you feel confident about your return to work, going straight back into a permanent role may be the right decision for you.
Voluntary work
To build up experience in a new area, or ease yourself back into a job, voluntary work may be a good option. Volunteering is usually temp work, helping you rebuild your skills and confidence as well as giving you the opportunity to meet new people, who may be able to help you and provide references in future.
