If you already understand the basic principles of accounting and are looking to develop your knowledge and skills then the AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting is the ideal next step.
AAT Level 3 builds on the theory learnt at Level 2 by focusing on more complex accounting tasks, such as the formal preparation of accounts for sole traders and partnerships and cash management. You will also learn about professional ethics within the accounting sector.

Upon completion of AAT Level 3 you will be equipped to handle a wide variety of finance roles, as well as being ideally placed to continue your studies at Level 4 and develop the skills to be a financial team leader.

Pathway Options
Designed to help you fast track your career, our pathway packages combine the courses you need to gain the wider job opportunities and higher earning capacity you want.
With our AAT Intermediate Pathway you can take advantage of the AAT Level 2 Certificate and AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting in one course, allowing you to save money on your studies.
Alternatively, you can combine Levels 3 and 4, so you can seamlessly achieve the complete AAT Accounting Qualification and gain full AAT membership.
By developing existing accounting skills, the AAT Level 3 Diploma will allow you to take the next step in your finance career, which may be as a purchase or sales ledger supervisor or accounts manager.
The AAT Level 3 Diploma is the second stage of the full AAT Accounting Qualification and will earn you 160 UCAS points, with over thirty UK universities offering exemptions onto accounting and finance related degrees for AAT Professional members.
Upon completion of Level 4, and with proof of one year’s relevant work experience, you can apply for full AAT membership, allowing you to use the letters MAAT after your name and enjoy a range of benefits including:

Completing Level 4 is approximately equivalent to the first year of an honours degree, and is recognised as a non-graduate route in chartered accountancy. All UK chartered and certified accountancy bodies - including CIPFA, CIMA, ICAEW, ICAS and ACCA - offer generous exemptions to full AAT members.
