Course Overview

Prepare for a new career as a Nursery Assistant or Child Minder. You'll study a range of topics that will give you a clear understanding of the regulatory and administrative aspects of child care. These include health and safety and quality assurance issues and how to meet OFSTED guidelines. Your training will also provide you with a good understanding of the physical, psychological and emotional needs of children. By the end of your course you will have the skills, insights and confidence needed to take either your first step or next step in a rewarding career.

Qualification

By completing this course you will be able to gain a Child Day Care Level 3 EDI Diploma. EDI is one of the largest accredited awarding bodies in the UK vocational sector. EDI Qualifications recognise the ability to gain a good knowledge and understanding of a subject area while being able to perform varied tasks with some guidance or supervision.

Gaining the Child Day Care EDI Diploma will really help to boost your job prospects. It will enhance your CV and help get you noticed by potential employers. It will also show that you are self-motivated and committed to your personal development. Learning at this level involves building knowledge and/or skills in relation to an area of work or a subject area and is appropriate for many job roles. EDI qualifications are achieved through a mixture of continuous assessment and a final written test. Students are advised to ensure that they are following a course of study which leads to an appropriate form of qualification for their intended occupation. Advice on appropriate qualifications is available from the Children's Workforce Development Council or from your own local authority.
