On this NCFE Level 3 Supporting Teaching & Learning online course you will learn about child psychology, child and young person development, safeguarding the wellbeing of children and young people, supporting children and young people’s health and safety, personal development, supporting learning activities, promoting children’s and young people’s positive behaviour, developing professional relationships with children, young people and adults, promoting equality, diversity and inclusion in work with children and young people all within the EYFS framework.
You will also complete a 100 hour work placement* in an Ofsted regulated organisation with children between the ages of 6-19, giving you a chance to put your new knowledge to the test in a real life environment.
On successful completion of the course and work placement you will receive your Level 3 teaching assistant certification (QCF 501/0403/2).
You will also gain professional and technical skills, plus an understanding of the importance of positive relationships within a school.

Students wishing to enrol on the NCFE Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching & Learning in Schools course must hold a level 2 qualification before starting this course. Good written and verbal English language skills are also essential. If English is not your first language, evidence of IELTS 5.5 is required.

The NCFE Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching & Learning in Schools is an ideal qualification for those looking to consolidate and enhance their child development knowledge or ability to work as a qualified Teaching Assistant with a nationally recognised qualification.
Having gained your final qualification you will be able to apply for jobs as a Teaching Assistant with a salary of up to £19,893* per annum.
Teaching assistants generally work alongside a teacher in the classroom, making sure pupils get the most out of lessons. This might include helping with practical exercises or preparing the classroom and clearing up afterwards, thereby allowing the teacher to focus on delivering the lesson. Qualified level 3 teaching assistants are much in demand as they can work unsupervised in a classroom or other early learning setting.
NCFE is one of the UK’s fastest growing national awarding bodies, designing and awarding qualifications that are nationally recognised to meet the needs of learners and employers. The NCFE Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools has been accredited by the qualifications regulators for England, Wales and Northern Ireland and is part of the Qualifications Credit Framework (QCF) for England.
The NCF outlines level 3 qualifications as equivalent to A Levels, denoting and recognising the ability to gain and, where relevant, apply a range of knowledge, skills and understanding.
