This beginner’s course starts at level 1 and teaches everything you need to know about operating and maintaining a PC, leading to internationally recognised, vendor neutral CompTIA A+ accreditation. As such, it is ideal for students with no prior professional IT experience but who have a strong desire to develop a career in the sector.
Develop skills through practical exercises
You’ll start by learning the fundamentals of PC functionality including the installation of software, setting up security, dealing with common errors and hardware issues.
You will then develop a thorough understanding of the processes involved in building, installing, configuring and upgrading computer systems. Progress is assessed through a series of online tests, ensuring you are ready to take the final exams.

The Computer Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) is an international industry recognised professional organisation and this qualification is part of the certification track for corporations such as Microsoft, Hewlett-Packard, Cisco and Novell.
As with all major IT accreditations, CompTIA Certification must be renewed every three years to ensure that knowledge and skills remain up to date with current trends. This can be done via a short bridging exam, through CompTIA’s Continuous Education Programme or by taking the latest full A+ exam.
