Care Skills EDI Certificate

This course will help you develop the skills needed for a successful career in the Care Sector - whether or not you're already working in the care industry.

You'll gain an understanding of the various skills needed to be effective in a nursing or residential home position, and learn about the GSCC Code of Practice for Social Care Workers and the responsibilities of the care worker.

You will cover a wide range of areas such as first aid, risk assessment and security in the workplace, effective communication, personal hygiene, and nutritional needs.

By completing this course you will be able to gain a Care Skills Level 1 EDI Certificate.

EDI is one of the largest accredited awarding bodies in the UK vocational sector. EDI Qualifications recognise the ability to gain a good knowledge and understanding of a subject area while being able to perform varied tasks with some guidance or supervision.

Learning at this level involves building knowledge and/or skills in relation to an area of work or a subject area and is appropriate for many job roles. EDI qualifications are achieved through a mixture of continuous assessment and a final written test.

Students are advised to ensure that they are following a course of study which leads to an appropriate form of qualification for their intended occupation. Advice on appropriate qualifications is available from local authorities and employers or sector skills councils.
