7 Steps To Success
Being positive and making affirmative statements will go a long way to helping you achieve your goals. Doesn't it make sense to move positively towards a pleasurable goal rather than to run away from something you dislike?
For example, if you are on a fitness drive you might repeat to yourself "I am a successful marathon runner". Even though you haven't completed the race, your body will believe you, so when you train it will help you push yourself further. This applies equally to studying. If you are learning Book-Keeping, for example, try repeating "I am a successful Book-Keeper" over and over again. Be sure to say it to your reflection in the mirror with meaning and conviction.
The family may think it's strange, but if you smile and truly believe it, you're on the way to success!
- Get your team supporting you!
Before you start on your path to success, talk your goals over with family and friends. Everyone needs help and support from others who care about them. So tell them what your plans are, and ask them to remind you of your goals if the going gets tough.
- Begin with the end in mind
As you start your studies with Home Learning College, keep your vision clear by cutting out and keeping job advertisements for your desired job. Pin them on a board close to where you study. Regular reminders that there are well-paid and good jobs to be had, will help you to stay focused on your studies.
- Think your way to success
Spend a little time researching the sort of company or organisation you'd really like to work for. If you know someone who already works in that area, talk to them and ask them what it's really like. Then imagine yourself working there, and being happy and successful in that environment.
- Take action
Successful people are good at taking action to bring about a change in their lives - whether it's studying for a new career, or taking on extra responsibilities. Keep focused on your goal and move towards it.
- If it's to be, it's up to me
This old saying is a good reminder for anything to do with success. Don't wait for someone else to make decisions for you. If you have a dream, a goal, a desire - it's up to you to achieve it.
- Decisions are important
Successful people have one important character trait in common. They are good at taking decisions, and the quality of your life will depend upon the decisions you make.
- Foundations for success are important
Just as the foundations of a house support the walls and roof, your foundations for success come from qualifications and a desire to succeed. Put effort into the foundations and the results will be long-lasting.
