If you have already achieved your AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting and are looking to complete the full AAT qualification pathway then our AAT Level 3 and AAT Level 4 combined course will allow you to complete your studies, and open doors to a career in chartered accountancy.

AAT Level 3 and Level 4 courses cover both the content for the Level 3 AAT Diploma and AAT Level 4 Accounting course combined. You will begin by working towards your AAT Level 3 Diploma before moving on to the more advanced procedures covered at AAT Level 4.

Whilst studying towards the AAT Level 3 Diploma you will consolidate your learning through the practice of specific business accounting tasks, such as the formal preparation of accounts for Sole Traders and partnerships.

The AAT Level 4 Diploma will teach you how to undertake advanced activities, such as the formal preparation of accounts for limited companies, and develop your management skills. The AAT specialist units for level 4 will allow you to focus on the areas which interest you most.

  • Level 3 and 4 diplomas - equivalent to gaining an A Level and a Certificate of Higher Education
  • Accredited by the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT)
  • 12 units altogether: six units at Level 3 plus six (four compulsory plus two of five optional)units at Level 4
  • 10 computer based tests altogether: four at level 3 and six at level 4, all taken at a local test centre
  • 705 Guided Learning Hours (GLH), however as this is a distance learning course you are in complete control over how much time you commit to your studies each week

To enrol on our AAT Level 3 and Level 4 Diploma students must hold an AAT Level 2 Certificate or equivalent qualification and be able to demonstrate appropriate knowledge through work experience or an alternative qualification.

  • You have a valid UK address (AAT qualifications cannot be studied outside the UK, Channel Islands or Isle of Man).
  • You are over the age of 18 or have a third party payee for any financial agreement
  • You have a solid grasp of the English language. ELTS 5.5 or equivalent is required if English is not your first language
  • You have access to a computer and the Internet throughout your study period
  • You have basic PC skills in order to navigate our Virtual Learning Campus

Upon completing AAT Level 4, and having gained one year’s relevant work experience, you will be able apply for full AAT membership, allowing you to use the letters MAAT after your name.

Completing Level 4 is approximately equivalent to the first year of an honours degree, and is recognised as a non-graduate route to further study with one of the main UK Chartered Accountancy bodies (including CIPFA, CIMA, ICAEW, ICAS and ACCA), a range of Accounting career opportunities and the ability to run your own Accounting practice. In fact, research conducted by Hays Accountancy and Finance shows that achieving the full AAT Accounting Qualification can boost your earning by 15%.
