The full AAT Accounting Qualification

With our Level 2, 3 & 4 course (Full AAT Qualification), you will be recognised by universities and employers alike giving you elevated professional credibility and status, increasing your opportunities for career progression and fulfilling your salary expectations.

Through your accounting training you will learn how to work with internal control systems, produce financial statements and analyse financial performance.

In addition to gaining the full AAT Accounting Qualification, successful completion of Level 4 Accounting training means you can apply for Affiliate Membership of the AAT and eventually upgrade to full member using the letters MAAT after your name once you have gained sufficient work experience.

With the Levels 2, 3 & 4 AAT qualification on your CV, you can apply for a range of positions such as an Accounts Manager with a potential salary of £37,000* and continue on to chartered accountancy.

    You will be provided with textbooks for each unit (also given as eBooks through the Virtual Learning Campus).

Whilst there are no formal entry requirements, to enrol on our Level 2 Certificate in Accounting course (Foundation) , we recommend that you have a basic GCSE qualification in English and Mathematics or a keen interest in Accounting. We also recommend that students take the AAT’s Skill Check to measure their prior knowledge.

Before you enrol on this Home Learning College course, please ensure that you have read and understood the prerequisites below:

  • You have a valid UK address (AAT qualifications cannot be studied outside the UK, Channel Islands or Isle of Man)
  • You are over the age of 18 or have a third party payee for any financial agreement.
  • You have a solid grasp of the English language. IELTS 5.5 or equivalent is required if English is not your first language
  • You have access to a computer and the internet throughout your study period.
  • You have basic computer skills in order to navigate our Virtual Learning Campus.
  • You are fully committed to your studies.

Career path

Completing the AAT Level 2, 3 & 4 (Full Qualification) and having gained one year’s relevant work experience, you will be able apply for full AAT membership, allowing you to use the letters MAAT after your name.

All the vital skills and knowledge you have learnt throughout the AAT course will set you up perfectly for a senior finance role. This qualification and expertise will qualify you for roles including Assistant Finance Manager and Accounts Manager.

Completing Level 2, 3 & 4 is approximately equivalent to the first year of an honours degree, and is recognised as a non-graduate route to further study with one of the main UK Chartered Accountancy bodies (including ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW and ICAS ), a range of accounting career opportunities and the ability to run your own accounting practice. In fact, research conducted by Hays Accountancy and Finance shows that achieving the full AAT Accounting Qualification can boost your earning by 51%.
