Every business needs to run a payroll and understand PAYE and National Insurance.

The IAB Levels 1, 2 & 3 in Computerised Payroll for Business course combines all three IAB payroll qualifications:

  • The IAB Level 1 in Sage Payroll Management (QCF: 601/0472/7)
  • The IAB Level 2 in Sage Payroll Management (QCF: 601/0476/4)
  • The IAB Level 3 in Sage Payroll Management (QCF: 601/0483/1).

Your computerised payroll training will begin with a comprehensive introduction to payroll and Sage 50 payroll software, building your on your knowledge and skills as you progress with your online training.

Upon completion of your Sage payroll training you will have a solid understanding of everything that goes into payroll and will be equipped with the applied skills required for a position as a professional Payroll Clerk or Manager in an organisation or payroll bureau.

This is the only British payroll qualification jointly designed and accredited by Sage themselves and the only route to obtaining all three accredited payroll qualifications from the International Association of Book-keepers (IAB), in one course.

Sage 50 Payroll is the easy-to-use payroll software of choice for most small and medium-sized businesses across the world.

Sage payroll courses will teach you how to get the most from Sage 50 Payroll software and undertake a range of computerised payroll procedures; including how to run reports, apply NIC deductions, adjust for pay in lieu and create employee records from Human Resources information.

Upon successful completion of all three IAB payroll qualifications, you will be able to use Sage 50 payroll to its full potential, and will be equipped to take on a supervisory or managerial role in payroll.

The IAB Levels 1, 2 & 3 in Sage Payroll Management course consists of 18 units in total - three for the level 1 Award, nine for the level 2 certificate and 6 for the level 3 Certificate:

Level 1 Award:

  • Computerised payroll administration (4 credits)
  • Making gross pay calculations (2 credits)
  • Payroll preparation (3 credits).

Level 2 Certificate:

  • Fundamentals of employment legislation for payroll (2 credits)
  • Composition of an employee payroll record (2 credits)
  • Elements of gross pay (2 credits)
  • Statutory and non-statutory payments and additions (3 credits)
  • Termination of employment (1 credit)
  • Computerised payroll theory (2 credits)
  • Calculate gross pay (3 credits)
  • Spreadsheet software (4 credits)
  • Computerised payroll skills (4 credits).

Level 3 Certificate:

  • Employment legislation for payroll (2 credits)
  • Statutory and non-statutory reporting of payroll data (2 credits)
  • PAYE, Income tax and National Insurance Contributions (5 credits)
  • Theory of termination of employment (3 credits)
  • Determining gross pay (4 credits)
  • Computerised Payroll administration (8 credits).

There are no formal entry requirements for the IAB Levels 1, 2 & 3 in Sage Payroll Management course, but it is recommend that you have basic qualifications in English and Mathematics.
